Cherokee  County, Texas  is  gifted  with  an excellent junior college, Jacksonville College  a/k/a Jacksonville Baptist College.     Also,  Cherokee  County,   Texas  is  home  to  the Baptist  Missionary  Association  Theological  Seminary.   Cherokee  County is  within  an  hour's  drive  of  two  four  year state universities, Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Texas at Tyler.
